Roast Beef with Spaghetti

Braised beef with spaghetti is a traditional recipe that most of us remember from our childhood and continue to enjoy on Sundays and beyond. There are many different versions of this traditional recipe for Roast Beef with Macaroni and below you will see my trial.

Recipe for Roast Beef with Spaghetti

Preparation time: 75 minutes
Portions: 6

Recipe ingredients

  • 1.2 kg beef scallop
  • 2 medium onions
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 kilo of tomatoes
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 carrot
  • 100 ml white wine
  • 100 ml olive oil
  • 500 g thick spaghetti with a hole
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Execute Recipe

  1. We wash the tomatoes, grate them on a coarse grater to keep only their insides and discard their skin.
  2. Heat a pot on a medium to high temperature, then add the olive oil and sauté the meat in batches on all sides until it takes on color. Care must be taken not to add all the meat at once because the temperature will drop too much and the beef will not be properly shocked for braising.
  3. Remove the meat gradually to a pan and in the same pan saute the chopped onion for 2-3 minutes until soft. Then add the melted garlic, the carrot and saute for another minute.
  4. Put the beef back in the pot and deglaze with the wine. Mix carefully and after a few minutes when the alcohol has evaporated add the grated tomato, cinnamon and pepper.
  5. Simmer the braised beef for 1 hour with the lid of the pot closed. Then add 2 sharp teaspoons of salt, mix and simmer with the lid open until the spaghetti is ready.
  6. Heat enough water in a large pot. Once it boils, add a little salt and then the spaghetti. Boil them according to the manufacturer’s instructions to keep them al dente. Strain them and mix the spaghetti with the sauce from the braised beef.
  7. We serve the Roasted Beef with Thick Macaroni along with some grated cheese and freshly ground pepper.
