Recipe for Potato Waffles with Smoked Salmon

Recipe ingredients
- 200 g of smoked salmon
- 100 g of sour cream
- 1 lemon
Ingredients for potato waffles
- 250 g peeled potatoes
- 25 g of melted butter
- 60 g of all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 1 tbsp chopped dill
- 2 pinches of salt
- A little pepper
Execute Recipe
- Wash the potatoes and boil them in enough salted water for 10-15 minutes, until they soften well.
- Drain them and let them cool completely in a deep dish.
- Mash the potatoes with a puree press or grate them on a fine grater.
- Put the melted potatoes in a bowl and add the 2 eggs, melted butter, flour, dill, salt and a little pepper.
- Mix well the mixture for the savory potato waffles, until we get a uniform texture.
- Heat the waffle iron well and bake the waffles until they get a nice color for 4-5 minutes. The baking time depends on the individual waffle maker.
- Tip: if you don’t have a waffle maker you can prepare savory potato pancakes in a small pan and enjoy this recipe that way.
- Serve the potato waffles with smoked salmon, along with sour cream and some dill.
- Tip: if we can’t find sour cream in the store, we can make our own homemade sour cream! In a bowl, mix 250 ml of cream with 1-2 spoons of lemon juice and 60 ml of whole milk, close the bowl with film and leave the mixture outside the refrigerator for 12-24 hours.
- Optionally add thin slices of onion and some lemon.
