Recipe ingredients

  • 300 g tuna fillet
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt Pepper
  • 3 tbsp tataki sauce

Ingredients for the tataki sauce

  • 1 tbsp chopped chives
  • 1/2 tsp. melted ginger
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil from roasted sesame
  • 1 tbsp Sesame
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tbsp Japanese rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sugar

Tuna Fillet Tataki

Execute Recipe

  1. In a small saucepan, add the soy, sugar, lime juice and rice vinegar and mix well until warm.
  2. As soon as the sauce for the tuna tataki comes to a boil, remove the pan from the stove and let it cool. Then add the sesame oil, sesame, melted ginger and chives and mix well.
  3. We proceed with the preparation of the tuna fillet.
  4. Cut the tuna fillet into 2-3 parts, depending on the size of the fillet, so that we get large and square sticks.
  5. Brush each tuna fillet with olive oil and add some salt and pepper on all sides.
  6. Heat a non-stick pan to a very high temperature and sear the tataki tuna fillet for 12-15 seconds on each side. Care must be taken not to overcook as the tuna fillet must be raw inside.
  7. Remove the tuna from the pan and let it rest for a few minutes on a plate.
  8. Cut each tuna fillet into very thin slices and place them on a plate. Pour a little sauce over the pieces and serve the Tuna Tataki Fillet with the rest of the sauce in a small bowl.
