This recipe for Carrot Soup with Cod will impress you! It combines very harmoniously the aroma and sweetness of carrots, the intensity of ginger and the freshness of fresh cod.
Recipe for Carrot Soup with Cod

Recipe ingredients
- 500 g organic carrots
- 1 medium dry onion
- 2 tbsp fresh ginger
- 1 liter of water or vegetable stock
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- salt
- pepper
- 500 g of fresh cod or cod
Execute Recipe
- Clean the carrots and cut them into large pieces.
- Heat a large saucepan over medium-high heat.
- Add the olive oil with the carrots and sauté them for 5 minutes.
- Peel the onion and add it whole to the pot.
- Pour in the water or vegetable stock, lower the heat on the stove a little, add the ginger and boil the carrot soup with the lid closed for about 20 minutes.
- Clean the cod, remove most of its outer spines and carefully place it on top of the carrots.
- Simmer the carrot soup with cod for 12-15 minutes with the lid closed, until the fish is cooked and the carrots are soft.
- Remove the cod and the vegetables with a slotted spoon and place them on a plate.
- Strain the carrot soup for any bones into another pot.
- Add the carrots to the broth and beat well with a blender until you get a very smooth texture.
- At the same time, clean the cod and keep only its fillets.
- Serve the Carrot Soup with Cod hot with some freshly ground pepper.
- Alternatively you can use another fish, whole or fillet.
